How to Renew Your Spotify Premium Subscription

If you received an email stating that your account is no longer part of the family plan, you've lost premium access. This typically happens when a family plan expires or you're removed from it. Don't worry — restoring your premium is quick and easy.

Why Did I Lose Premium?

Premium accounts can be removed from family plans at any time if the plan expires or the admin removes members. When this happens, your account returns to the free tier. To restore premium access, you'll need to upgrade your account with your key.

Do I Need a Different Account?

Spotify allows each account to be upgraded only once per year. Whether you need a new account depends on when you last upgraded:

  • If it's been more than a year since your last upgrade: You can reuse your current account. Just go to the upgrade page and use your existing key with your same account details.
  • If it's been less than a year since your last upgrade: You'll need to use a different account. We make this easy with our automatic account creation and data transfer feature.

How to Restore Your Premium

You have two options depending on your situation:

Option 1: Upgrade Your Current Account (If 1+ Year Has Passed)

  1. Go to the upgrade page
  2. Enter your upgrade key (the same one you've been using)
  3. Enter your current account details
  4. Complete the upgrade process

Option 2: Create & Upgrade a New Account (If Less Than 1 Year)

If you were upgraded less than a year ago and lost premium, you'll need a fresh account. Our system makes this seamless:

  • Automatically creates a brand new Spotify account (no valid email required — we generate one for you)
  • Transfers all your data including playlists, liked songs, and followed artists from your old account
  • Upgrades it to Premium using your existing key

Once your new account is set up, you can log in to Spotify and update the email to your original one in your Profile Settings if desired.

💡 Pro Tip: Your upgrade key is lifetime — you never need to buy another one. Option 2 keeps all your music and playlists intact while giving you a fresh account that bypasses Spotify's one-upgrade-per-year limit.
