Upgrade Shows Successful But Account Isn't Premium
If the key info page shows your upgrade was successful, but your Spotify account still doesn't have premium features, don't worry — this is usually an easy fix.
Why Does This Happen?
Occasionally, Spotify's internal systems may prevent an account from being upgraded due to:
- Previous upgrade history on the account
- Spotify's internal restrictions or flags
- Regional limitations or account age
- Temporary technical issues on Spotify's side
The good news: Your upgrade key is still valid and can be used on a different account.
How to Fix This Issue
Step 1: Create a New Spotify Account
Since your current account cannot be upgraded due to Spotify's restrictions, you'll need to create a fresh account:
- Go to Spotify's signup page
- Create a new account with a different email address than your original account
- Make note of your new username and password
Step 2: Upgrade Your New Account
Use your same upgrade key on the new account:
- Go to the renew page
- Enter your same upgrade key (the one you used before)
- Enter your new account details
- Complete the process

- You can stop using your old account
